Aerin had a really good day. She stayed in the 20s on the Vapotherm all day long. I got to cradle-hold her and Andrew got to kangaroo. I am never happier than when I am holding her in my arms and staring at her beautiful face.
She is finally gaining weight again - she's at 2 pounds, 13.2 ounces! She's so close to 3 pounds. We just cannot wait.
Aerin has a pediatrician! Andrew and I met Dr. Al-Mateen today and we couldn't be more pleased. We were referred to him by Lisa, one of our NICU nurses, and every other nurse I've mentioned him to raves. He used to work at the Henrico Doctors' NICU before opening a pediatrics practice. He is extremely familiar with all of the issues that Aerin will be facing when she comes home and his credentials are second-to-none. It feels great to know that Aerin will continue to have the best care after she leaves the NICU.

Our beautiful daughter, Aerin Amelia Marx, was born 14 weeks premature on September 12, 2005. She weighed 1 pound, 12 ounces and was 13 inches long. Our precious micropreemie is now a healthy toddler whose progress is truly miraculous.

Wow, and their office is even open until 7 two days a week! Talk about accomodating!
She's getting so big so fast! It seems like no time at all since she was born, and she's already gained more than a pound and grown so much!
